    Solo or Group Bike Rides

All depends on the goal of the ride. Workouts can be done in up to about 3 people, any more than that at it becomes difficult. I mostly do these alone. Long basemiles though sometimes it helps to share the work. Sometimes I just want to listen to a podcast

    Bike License Plates

I don't mind paying for it, we kind of already do with taxes here in Illinois. My main problem is, I'm not strapping a license plate to my bike, and I'm sure not putting a sticker on it. So the best option would be a digital option like an insurance card. However, then it's not policeable. So...

Road Bike Event World Wide Tech Criterium

Have you ever wished you could race on a purpose built race track? WWT is a criterium that takes place April 13, 2024 at the World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, IL (just outside of STL for those geographically challenged like me). If you want to race, there is a race for you. This is...

    Jersey Fit?

Gotta make sure you don't have the bandaid tanlines is the only real concern

What got you into cycling in the first place?

Similar story, just doing stupid mid-20s things.

    Jersey Fit?

I like a low neck, form fitting jersey. I hate the feel of the jersey flapping in the wind (it causes chaffing, and i refuse to wear bandaids on my nipples).

What got you into cycling in the first place?

Started dating a girl in 2017 who was into cycling. Agreed to join for some rides (I died on an easy course for our first ride), but swore off lycra. Got my butt kicked by that ride, but momma didn't raise no quitter so I kept pushing. 7 years later, shes my wife and supports all my stupid...

    Favorite season for cycling

Lot's of documentation showing the human body works really well around 50*F. You can look at marathon times to see that when it gets much above 60* you can throw the WR time out of the window. Cooling is a huge limiter for the body, if you can stay cool and fueled you can do whatever you want...

    Tour of St Louis

2024 Omnium went off without a hitch, at least for the riders. Shout out to Big Shark who put the time in to make sure it ran smoothly. Matt Gholson's Video was fantastic! Here is my video from Saturday's crit and Sunday's crit. A full video will be up soon.

Do you want to be a pro cyclist?

Pro as in getting paid to ride? Sure. Lets get the YT channel off the ground.

    Favorite season for cycling

I prefer to ride in summer, but prefer to race in spring and fall.

What have you done to upgrade your bike?

Nah, speedplays for the road and crank bros for offroad. Look at me mom, I'm a non-conformist :). All my PM are Quarq. I do understand there are some benefits for pedal based, but really power doesn't matter (unless on zwift). Power is a consistently moving target so at best its close enough...

What have you done to upgrade your bike?

I agree, but I don't ride Look Keo's or Shimano XT pedals. So crank based power is my preferred method. I did contemplate moving pedal options, but cant get myself to do it.

What do you fuel with on your ride?

Sword drink mix. It's similar to other drink mixes (240kcal | 30g carbs | 400mg Na). I'm fully aware that it's not the perfect ratio of hydration and carbs, but I'm hesitant to move away because I've used it for so long. May try scratch this year, but not sure.
