Haven't ridden clipless. Looked into them recently. I suppose if I raced mtb or gravel seriously - would probably consider...

I've not been able to do them on an MTB yet. I have them on my gravel bike but not the mountain bike. Too scared lol

Speedplay on road bikes. Eggbeaters on mountain bikes. Lake shoes only on both; durable, comfortable and good value. Tried many others but toe box usually too narrow.

I just started using eggbeaters and have to say, I love them!

Shimano SPD on road and gravel. 1 pair of Shimano shoes and a pair of Bontrager with Boa dials. the Shimano shoes have softer soles for the hike-a-bike routes.
