I was looking on the website at the bibs...they look extremely thin on the legs. So you're saying not see-through at all? The chamois section is standard material it just looks like the difference is in the legs. Can your wife confirm that they're not see-through?
That aventon looks like a good deal. I love the idea of an e-mtb because i'm not good on a MTB yet so getting comfortable going faster while not having to actually work as hard can only be a benefit.
I don't necessarily think that is fair to you though. There are plenty of rides with different fitness level requirements. We really try to have rides that are A, B, and C groups

I went for a ride around 5:30 last night. Just an easy 1 hour out, HR was through the roof because of the heat though. When it's that hot, just start the ride with at least one extra "pouring bottle", and make sure your water is cold when you leave the house.

I've been a few times. Never for hiking or mtb but there is a pretty good breakfast joint there in Sevierville called Applewood Farmhouse Grill. Worth a stop if you're in the area for breakfast/lunch. I think where you're staying is pretty good. You could easily pop down to Tapoco/Fontana...
For me it's simply the low speeds and hot temps that kill me. I'll do it, but man its the benefit of road riding. 18+mph is better than 8-10 mph at the same effort.
