Starting a cycling journey can be exciting yet overwhelming for beginners. From choosing the right bike to understanding basic maintenance, there’s a lot to learn.

Start by selecting a bike that fits your needs and budget.

Learn the basics of bike handling and traffic rules.

Join a local cycling group to gain experience and motivation.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in cycling?

What were the biggest challenges you faced as a beginner, and how did you overcome them?

Don't get on a group ride that may be 25-50 miles when you have never ridden that far before. Getting dropped is not much fun, or slowing down the group.

I typically avoid group rides because I feel bad when they slow down for me to catch up.

I'm not a fast rider.

I don't necessarily think that is fair to you though. There are plenty of rides with different fitness level requirements. We really try to have rides that are A, B, and C groups
