Winter Bike Rebuilds

Anyone else doing winter bike rebuilds while the weather is not conducive to cycling?

I have a randoneuring bike which got a new chain, cassette, and bottom bracket. Getting ready to change out the brake and shifter cables.

My gravel bike has a belt drive with a Rohloff hub. Changed out the bottom bracket and all the cables. New handlebar tape as well. I also added inline brake levers.

I should be ready to ride once it gets a bit warmer.

I've always wanted to do something like this.

Buy a decent frame and then teach myself how to build the bike up to a decent bike.

My wife need an eBike, maybe I can get one of those kits and build one for her.

I'd buy one but I'm getting ready to buy a new truck so my bike buying activities will be pausing very soon lol.

My brother and I each built our wives an ebike conversion using Swytch out of the UK. Works pretty well. I converted a Specialized flat bar road bike for her. About 35 mile range if she run the battery all of the time.

That would be perfect for my wife. She does many 20 miles when we bike, usually a section of Tunnel Hill.

I'm having our local bike shop change my gravel bike from a not-very-good climbing 2X to a SRAM 12speed 1X electronic shifting with a 38 front and 44 rear. I'm tired of grinding up those steep hills......
