Why was this? How did it make cycling life better?

Carbon soled shoes. I used to get foot pain when riding the plastic shoes. Since moving to carbon, everything got better.

Hmmm. I've never heard of that!

I like my clipless MTB shoes more than my road shoes. Would it really be that big of a deal to just use them on my road bike? Make all my pedals SPD?

I just feel like the mtb shoe is more comfortable. Easier to walk in.

Easier to walk in, but in general more flexible which is something I'm not really a fan of.
