Do you carry any kind of bike gear that is unnecessary, but you carry it anyways?

If so, what is it? How do you justify your need to carry it?

I always have my garmin on me. Definitely not necessary but a creature comfort.
I carry too many snacks. I carry more than I need. I can get that when I'm hiking in the backcountry but do I really need that many for bike rides?

If you're eating them then i think you're good. I would say eating around 200 calories an hour should be ideal if you're riding over 90 minutes.

I usually ride from Vienna to Tunnel Hill and back. It's uphill to Tunnel Hill. There, I'll eat a GU and a waffle most of the time.
