Group rides are a fantastic way to enjoy cycling while meeting new people and exploring new routes. Southern Illinois has a vibrant cycling community with regular group rides and meetups for cyclists of all levels. Whether you're looking for a social ride or a more challenging workout, there's a group for you.

Have you joined any group rides or cycling clubs in Southern Illinois?

What has your experience been like, and do you have any recommendations for newcomers looking to join?

Share your thoughts and any upcoming group rides that others might be interested in.

I have joined Chain reaction cycling club in Paducah KY. It's not southern IL but just across the big Ohio crick. they have membership forms at Bike World. it is $20individ, or $30 family I think. we do group rides about every day of the week. Monday flat, tues social, wed ?, thur hills, fri-sat-sun tbd. they are bringing back mis aligned minds ride this year in sept.

Tues nights cape has a gravel ride that starts at 29 spanish street in the public parking lot next to Ebb and Flow fermentations. 6:35pm take off, bring lights and liquids, usually try to make it back in time to grab a cold drink of your choosing and one of cape's best smash burgers in town. or what ever tickles your fancy on the menu. eats and drinks not required to ride. the ride regroups several times and someone always hangs with any new riders / no drop / party pace. sometimes the party can get to hopping lol.
