Hey, I am here....just missed this thread!
Let's see, I was invited to Zwift back in beta testing days (my ID is absurdly low: 7300) but back then I didn't have a smart trainer (or even a power meter). Fast forward to year before last and I got back into cycling after an ~8-year hiatus and decided to give it a try. I very much enjoy it -- removes any excuses for riding (weather, darkness, available time). The gamification also works for me psychologically, so I leverage that to help keep me motivated.
If anyone has any questions about Zwift feel free to ping here. Or, join us on Facebook at Southern Illinois Zwifters -- breadcrumbs there for our club in Zwift, link to our Discord server, and links to our (mostly) weekly races on Thursday evening. Feel free to join us even if you're a beginner! There are often riders of all abilities and I've found personally that riding with faster folks help you improve!

I might try to see if my gf wants to get into it and look into trying it. It would be good for both of us. I just need to see what's all involved.
