More and more drivers are on their phones.
More and more people tend to hate cyclists.
It seems that every road has construction on it in southern Illinois.
To be blunt, it's getting worse and worse to be a road cyclist at times.
Does this ever discourage you from continuing to road bike...
What's been your longest and hardest road bike ride?
For me, this year was it. I did 101 miles of the 135-mile Soil TransAm ride.
In 101 miles, I gained over 6,600 feet of elevation.
It was the hardest road bike ride for me.
How about you all?
I did my first Superman Bike Ride in Metropolis on a mountain bike.
It was crazy hard.
A few riders told me I needed to get a road bike. Had no idea what they were.
After that, I got one, and was hooked!
What's your story?
I've crashed on my road bike a few times.
I crashed after hitting unexpected gravel.
I crashed at a stop sign because I didn't unclip.
How about you? Have you ever crashed on your road bike before? Tell us about it!
This is especially the case for the colder winter months!
How do you remain a consistent road cyclist?
Do you increase indoor training or do you still get out in the cold?
Out of all the places you've road biked in southern Illinois, what area has been the most scenic?
Why do you feel this way? What makes this area so scenic?
