Cycling and Camping: Best Spots for an Overnight Adventure

Started in Cape and went to Horseshoe Lake was fun. From Cape to Trail of Tears was fun. From Vienna to Karnak was fun. The joy I think lies in the adventure not necessarily the destination. Ready to get back out there for some more adventures.

Well I like to do a full century at least once a month and a few metrics along the way however work or rain seems to keep getting in the way. Maybe you can tag along sometime. lol

There is a Dollar General on every corner now days. When I do my century rides on Tunnel Hill I like to stop at Wendy's in Harrisburg, for a chicken snack wrap.

    Chain Oil

I just went to a wax chain on my gravel bike. So far I like it. still have the traditional lube chain on my road bike and I think it is dirtier and nastier than my gravel bike. prob will go wax next time on the road bike also. Thanks for the tip on Cutter.

    Just bought a new helmet...

My first helmet Was a Giant, and I glued screen in all of the front holes to prevent bugs and bees from flying in it and it did not stop the air. My son decided that helmet looked better on him than me so he commandeered it. I then bought a Specialized Evolv. Instead of meshing it out in the...

What cycling skills do you lack?

Speed, speed, and speed. is that a skill? I am still a rookie at all things biking, so pretty much everything for me. With climbing at the top of the list.

Do you intentionally ride/train in the rain?

I recently went for a ride knowing it would be 95% rain induced. I was on a rail train so there was no fear of traffic or visibility issues. It defiantly required more effort than a dry ride. But beyond the effort there are several other factors to overcome, such as visibility/vision, chaffing...

    Solo or Group Bike Rides

I like them all. enjoy a little solo time as well as jumping in a pace line or party pace with good convo. i think mood, goals, timing all play into the decision.
